You can put the gearbox in Nuteral or the auto in Park and put the transfer case in nuteral it should roll easily and you are off. Not sure what others have done or do Mile tows his and I think he uses transfer case nuteral too.

make sure freewheeling hubs are set too free, less drag if the front wheels arent turning front diff etc

Mike puts his in neutral in the transfer to tow it  h2olova had a landy years back, he put free wheeling hubs on all 4 wheels 8) Unlock'em, and away you go, worked bloody good :D

Might be better to have an auto in neutral for towing

We did it this way to ensure the transfer case was in nuteral if you have both in nuteral you can tow and still spin the output shafts etc on the auto his LR has the pump for the auto on the input shaft.

He wanted to be 100% on transfer nuteral this is why he did this, not sure if they all run this way. Mike may know.

It depends on the Auto I would tow a 4wd auto the way I iindicated, transfer nuteral. A auto car I would remove the driveshaft from one end of the diff.

Fulltime auto I would say call the AA.
