Looking for a samy gearbox & Rear Diff Head in chch...

Looking for a reasonable (i.e. not noisey) box to put in my '89 samurai..... I'm not worried about synchro probs etc. Would also be interested in a bad one that I could rebuild if I can't find a good one....

Oh, and will a 413 one be OK? 410? What are the differences?

413 will be ok , some of the later sammys have a higher 5th gear , amrginal thou .
A 410 gearbox is 4sp and will not bolt up .

Yeah, for a price...... I could recondition mine cheaper than that!
I'm also after a rear diff head for the samy..... again, i could import brand new lower ratio ones from the US for only slightly more than the wreckers want! Looking for a more short term cheap solution, let me know if you have anything...

about the diff gears
i got mine off a few of the local vatara guys
as thay blowe there front diff housings
and got a new front diff housing with nuggets
so got the old diffs for $50 each
and put them in to the sj 5.12 to 1 r&p

Hey
I have a 85 sj413 5 spd. The syncros in second are stuffed but is sweet other than that.
I am in northland so freight might be a issue but its yours for enough for a box of green bottles
PM me if your interested and i'll give you my location details etc so you can get freight quotes. Its only light not huge.

Toysuzi, do those diffs bolt straight in to the samy housings or is there some 'tweaking' required?
