body lift Q

body lift Q

what is the down side about doing a 2 inch body lift on a surf??

How hard is it to do. ive herd they are prity easy.

How do you do it do you just lift the body and put the longer bolts and bushes in there??

where can i get them from??

One thing to consider is.. Are you going to keep it in your garage & if you are will it still fit once youve done you lift.

Nah, just make the garage taller...
My Surf has to live in the driveway as it is 45cm too tall to fit in our garage,

must do mods, must do mods...

wel it definatly wont fit in the garage its already scraping but we are getting a new shed soon so it should fit in the new one. it normaly stays on the drive way . thanx

I made mine (for my hilux) from 60 or 70mm UHMWPE rod. Cut to the length I wanted on a radial arm saw at work and bored the holes with a wood lathe. Didnt go to 50mm as it was a bit of a hassle with gear nobs etc so I only went for 35mm. Took me about 2 hours to do from go to whoa. Only thing to watch is the steering rod from steering wheel to steering box needs a packer or lengthening if you go too high. I got a spacer made at work by the machinist. There is someone here making them, cant remeber who though.

This Mod will need a cert though so if you are doing it do any other stuff that will need cert (bigger tyres, wider wheels, etc) at the same time to save $$$ (only pay once)
