work out what you want

there are plenty of topics on here that give you the best and worst advice.

so look thru them and decide what you want and then start pricing them up.

I work in a tyre shop in Taupo (not far to drive) and I run these on one of my wagons and find them good.................

http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails ... ductID=220

Not much of a saving, but I can do them for $250 per tyre for you.

as I said though, look around, work out what you want and get prices.

I had a set of maxxis buckshots on my surf and they were pretty crap. for arround the same price i would get the sumitomo serengetti. you get what you pay for. the buckshots where good for me when i had them. I now have goodyear wrangler mtrs and they are way better. still apparently dont clear as well as other brands ( you have to spin them quite fast) but have reasonable side wall grip and good on rocky stuff and they are still pretty cheap. I would probably be looking on trade me to get a good deal.
It all depends how much money you have.

as you can see ,there is all sorts of advice on ORE.

I'm not saying Pete has bad advice.

In fact what he has is just plain old advice, which is the same as what I've given you.

If you read most topics on here, most people will say that its there 2 cents worth. thats exactly what it is.

my 2c is completely different to Petes 2c, so you have a lot of reading to do and a whole bunch of decision making at the end.

Good Luck

I agree totaly you have to listen to what everyone says. The reason I didnt like the buckshots is that they did not have any side wall grip and did not throw mud like my mtr's do. However you will get about 80000 ks on a set. They were good for a start but i wouldn't go back.
(not trying to get at you skid, im sure you have your resons for liking them like you said just my 2c  )

Just so that everybody is really clear, MT in Wrangler MT/R stands for Maximum Traction and NOT Mud Terrain. MT/Rs were never designed or marketed by Goodyear as dedicated mud terrain tyres. They are known to be really good in certain conditions, including mud of sorts, but I just wanted to clarify that.

yup gotta agree there.

2 different uses for the same tyres.

you used yours off road and mine were mainly used on road on my tow vehicles.

on the road they have done about 10000km and look as good as the day they went on.

I have heard and seen that the serengetis wear down real fast on the road and some of our customers who use the wranglers off road for hunting have been complaining that the sidewalls are too soft and they are picking up too many sidewall punctures.

alas, as we have both alluded to, there are a million different pieces of advice.

We have offered ours and there will be many more
