i've got a mate who has been offered a factory rear difflock for his GQ but it is only the nugget and no housing as the housing was damaged in an accident and he no longer has it. What would be invovled in retro-fitting it into a standard housing? I've been told that it would be permantly locked it if were put staight in. Does this mean it needs vacuum to leave it in an unlcked state? any help would be apreciated. cheers marc

Factory rear lockers require a vacuum digphram on the rear of the housing with a linkage to engage and disengage it. Without the housing you will be out of luck unless you get a good engineering company that could fit a small pnuematic ram to the housing via a linkage to engage and disengage it.
