Transfer Case Cross member / gearbox lift

Post by UBZ »

I am considering lifting my gearbox / transfer case 1" and fitting a low profile cross member. (From 4wdStuff)

Would be great to get the extra clearance underneath and reduce the shifter issues ive been having after doing the body lift.

Was wondering weather anyone has done this on a KZN130 Surf with 1KZ-TE Diesel? :?: :?:

Would I have to space the motor up 1" as well?
LR110 ..... LJ50 project

you don't have to just loosen the mount's a little and it will pivot nicely.

The only thing is doing this will increase (slightly) the angles in your rear drive line marginaly and could cause them to show wear quicker (reduces the front tho).

but this is quicker based on a factory one that foes 200,000km or more :) and if really worried some camber wedges to lift the pinion about 5 deg would help.

If I had a body lift I would be doing this to get a flat belly but my lift will be all in th springs (they are on the floor at the moment)

the engine does not have the same clearance issues and the torque load etc will still be on the same points so no worries.

Also chat to Steve he will tell you what you can do for the drive line.
