Check the angle of shackles when it's at rest. The shackle should be at a right angle or slightly under with no load. if the angle between shackle and spring is less than 45 degrees then the springs need resetting to adjust for the extra load of the bigger motor.
If your axle is half way along the spring then any height increase will be half the increase in shackle length.
However having said all that, if your axle is hitting the crank pulley at rest, then increasing shackle length isn't going to help a hell of a lot because it will probably still hit when the springs are compressed.
You'll probably have more success lifting your engine mounts if SOA is out of the question
