The surf is pretty much standard except it has 31" ATs, what are the first upgrades i should look at doing to it?
Im thinking 33" mud tires (probably off trademe) and a suspension raise (can anyone tell me how much that would cost?)
Warning on the hooks - they come with imperial-thread-pitch bolts... if you are going to bolt the front hook into the factory threaded inserts (they will line up) then DO NOT use the bolts that come with them... go buy two new fine-pitch metric grade 8.8 bolts... in the back the hook will need a little engineering to make it fit - holes, plating, etc. Search the forums here, there is plenty of hook mounting tech to be found.
The 33" tyres will require a body lift to stop them rubbing, but they will fit with a 2" spring lift - although they will still rub when you're flexing up.
Do both, the truck will look and work good - but you'll need to factor in certification on top. a set of 50mm springs will set you back approx $750, and longer big-bore shocks will sting you $500. A body lift will cost around $200 for a kit, or you can make it yourself if you have the tools and save a little coin. Fitting is something you can do over a day with basic tools like jacks and axle stands and a beer fridge...
Also, take the plastic inner guard lining off in the front wheel arches and pound the spot-weld seam on the firewall end flat with a BFH, that seam will cut your tyres up quickly and efficiently
Good choice on your truck, and welcome
