Whangarei Trials champs

Hi all, I am hoping to take the kids and spectate at the Whangarei trails round on Dec 2nd. Does anyone have a location and prices? Cheers Matt.

The map is pretty close. The actual event is a bit further north on SH1 than the map shows.

The settlement below the venue arrow is Ohaeawai and Okaihau is about 10ks further up SH1. The venue is a couple of kays north of Okaihau. Should be sign posted.

Northland 10 day Regional Forecast



Tue 27 Fine apart from some morning cloud. Southwest winds,becoming strong and gusty this afternoon.

Wed 28 Mainly fine, but isolated showers possible late afternoon or evening. Southerly winds easing.

Thu 29 Fine and cloudy periods, with isolated showers. Southwest winds.

Fri 30 A period of rain followed by showers. Northwesterlies turning southwest.

Sat 1 Early showers clearing then fine. Southwest winds.

Sun 2 Rain. Light winds.

Mon 3 Showers with little wind.

Tue 4 Dry with light winds.

Wed 5 Dry. Little wind.

Thu 6 Dry. Not much wind.

All being well I will be there in the family Discovery shiny wagon but the wife might nick it. Then I'll be in the Audi. I used to compete back in UK a few years ago but I really can't see me getting the time and money together to start again.

Not ALL broken - just the rear diff & unlike the likes of Walton & Cowper we can't afford to carry spare ARB locker diffs for just in case. :( :( :( :( :(

A few random pics from Whangarei, now I'm not normally a fan of trials, but some of those hazards were pretty steep and narly!, some nice engineering on some of the trucks too, lotsa "thinking outside the square" stuff. You can see why the likes of the Waltons and Cowpers are the best at the sport, well setup and sorted trucks, but more importantly intelligent and skillful driving.

I know the hazard hes looking at, and he's probably saying, "I reakon we'll tip over there, there and there" :lol: :lol: it was an ugly sidling on a hell steep slope :shock:

Ok I should clarify that . "anyone get over the rock and stay on 4 wheels to finish the hazzard " in some of the photo's .
