Oil change

Post by Disco-Blue »

Just changing the oil in my Prado and dont actually know how much to put into it. Ive put around 4.5 litres and left it for about 40 mins but after checking the oil level it was only just above empty.

How much should i be putting in? Engine is the 2L-T

I think the last time I did it, it was just over 5L!!! (Of course, oil usually comes in 4 or 5L......bastards! ) The woman's 2.5TD mitsi was about 5.5L...... From low to full shouldn't be more than a litre.

The first time I did an oil change on my Prado, I put 4L in intially and the dip stick was still dry. I thought **** I forgot to put the sump plug back in, it turns out 7L is needed to bring it back to the full mark.

I had a F250 with the 7.3 litre turbo diesel in it for my work truck. Aside from being the biggest piece of poo I have ever driven, it took 14.5 litres of engine oil for a service. Another quality american product!

A book said 6litres for a 3L, I went a little over that. 4L sounds far short.
