I've never even seen one of those before. Would be a pretty wicked toy if you had the money.

it must be one of the earlier forward comtrols cos i remember them looking a little bit different...

Yes, these were a variation of the Series 2A, known as the series 2B. Land Rover running gear.
There are also the forward control 101's which IMO are cool, all Range Rover running gear except suspension & chassis, made for the military.
