Our '97 Pajero runs fine and has been running fine on 91 for a couple of years. It is the 3.5 V6 gas guzzler version though.

If it is a DOHC 3.5 then it needs to be high octane.

Think the SOHC 3.5 and 3.0 can run on 91 but not 100%

3.5 dohc needs high octane.Had a mate who tried is on 91 and 96 and got better fuel economy on 96. Single cam engines 91 no prob. All mitsi injected engines are 5 degrees with the timing plug shorted to ground. Usually its a brown round plug on fire wall

Hi
I run my 1993 3.0 V6 JTop at 240000km on 91, it loves it and has no issues under load.

Cheers Mike
