Petrol of Diesel?
Do the clutch while its out.
Re Diff Lock - press button, wait for flashing to stop on dash then drive it. Can be put in on the move, but not while spinning or turning a corner! Do not put it under strain until the light stops flashing. I have a match box full of teeth with the evidence of having insufficent air pressure holding diff locked.
Press bottom of switch, the wee pump spins backwards and unlocks. Usually comes straight out, but can take abit to go it.
- Will only be able to be locked when the centre diff is locked in 4WD
- Cannot be locked if moving over 12km/h (I think its 12)
- Unlocks automatically when removing centre diff lock.

cheers, is it an idea to upgrade the air compressor then?? like run it off another one??
Also im looking at running 33s will a 50mm body lift torsion wind and lwb springs be sufficent???

i have a jtop also, i had to chop a slice off the bumper corners, and do a bit off hammer work on the front guards, but then they went on with the lift. i had kings in the rear and torsion wind and balljoint flip in the front.

Hi
I think I read on the Ausi Forum that you can not substitute the compressor one for one as the original is a low pressure, low volume one , where as an ARB or equiv is a high volume high pressure.
Correct me dudes if I am wrong

correct.. i think. if you use a arb comp it will be going to 100 odd psi type area, and i think you will blow out the seals. but im sure you can use a relief valve or pressure limiter of some form. mitsi lockers are designed to run on about 8psi, (approx, cant remember) so the factory comp is usually fine. njv6 was just unlucky. really really unlucky due to his ratio. at least the smaller diffs are easier to find.

Yes, you can lock them by blowing into the air pipe. 6 - 8 psi.
Like wacko said, if you can really reduce the pressure then it may work but I'm not sure about unlocking, as the genuine compressor spins backwards to let the air release.

i did not know that... interesting. does the ecu control that part? reckon you could just reverse the polarity into the compressor?
