ARB / TJM Style bars anyone?

Post by kiwipete »

Some of us on here have been asking about patterns for front bars similar to ARB / TJM. 8)

Well here are some patterns I got from a chap in the US of A that I was thinking of making for the Terrano, but I now consider them to look too heavy for my needs.

Maybee they will be useful for some one else.

thanks :) don't suppose there is another pic showing the other bits that need to be cut out, like the diagonal bits on the ends of the bar (unless i've missed them somewhere... )

i presume thats what the bumperlayout2 pic is showing

here is the design for a R20 nissan chassi. will fit non facelift/pre 1998 mistral and the D series chassi. as ARB doesnt make bars for this chassi anymore and the mistral was not sold new in aussie they never made one to be crash tested/ mass produced.

I haven't made it yet, but the materials cost 340 dollars, the red areas are the mounts the green lines are the bolt holes i will apply measurements as i make them.

I basically took rough measurements for each panel, rocked up to the engineers and got it cut out of 3 ml plate steel with a plasma cutter

Also this will be made to fit around a pre existing winch mount. the reason for this is so if the bar mounts are damaged in an impact it wont damage the winch mounts if it is needed for recovery out of the situation.

The tow eyes are part of the 12mm steel plate that extends right back to where it bolts to the chassi.

apart from impact forces the only other force that isn't directly on the mount plates is the fair lead. There are two m16 bolts on each plate, then the other two mounts run down to the bottom of the chassis where the nudge bar/ factory tow hook would mount.
Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.
