while the mitsi thread is getting all this interest, i decided to ask a question too. :D

i drowned my paj a cpl of years back, had to replace the stepper motor and the computer. but then it just idled at bout 2000rpm i think.. (been a while since i took any notice) so i took it to mitsi to go on their diagnostic computor. they said the computor isnt responding to their computer so i need to replace that before they can reset the idle. anyone think they are wrong and i can avoid paying for another comp then taking it back and them telling me the same again?

can they wipe it and reflash it? or did they just try and read it? , could also be thier reader machine? they have monthly updates on those diag machines... has someone on here got one you can try or get cheap and see if it fixes the problem?

My Zuk has an onboard diagnostic system, your mitsi may have one if you have a copy of the workshop manual, not sure if the prado one has a similar system....

Could also try rebooting it....pull off the battery for 24hrs I think and see if it fixes it...if there are fault codes in the comp this will clear it....

Hey,

1stly, Make sure the throttle completely closes against the stop. It is easy to whip off the flexi from the intake and have a look in there.

It may be all gunked up which is quite common. Pull the throttle body to pieces and use some carb cleaner or equilivant to spray all about in there.

Good Luck
