Conservation Management Strategy (CMS) documents control how the conservancies run their areas for 10 years after their formal adoption by the NZ Conservation Authority.
Anyone in NZ can comment on any CMS during the review process.
Unless a CMS allows an activity, then that activity can't even be considered by DOC staff, so if we want to have 4x4 recreation on public land managed by DOC, then it must be acknowledged in a CMS.
The initial survey for comments about the future vision for the Auckland conservancy closes on 18 February 2008
