Re-vinning a vehicle
Re-vinning a vehicle
Does anyone know how hard it would be to get this vehicle re registered? I am considering buying it and doing all the work myself. Cheers.

I think you need to have proof of ownership, get it certified, pay about $500 and then pay rego and wof.
Can't be sure never done it but I I know a couple of people who have, but seconf hand you never get the whole story, but there is a bit of paperwork involved.

Legal disclaimer: Any information I may have provided is worth exactly what you paid me for it.
Not that hard as long as vehicle is sound.
Not as tough as compliance but still tougher than a WoF.
Proof of ownership required (purchase sale agreement etc)
If modified then it will need a certification for the mods.
If previously damaged and repaired then it will need a repair cert (around $5-600).
You need to check why it was deregistered in the first place. Do a Vin check and get a report on its history, well worth the $30 odd.
They are tough on rust so ensure all rust is treated and covered before you take it in, even areas where the paint has come off and is still sound. Paint it.
Rego fees are higher for the first time (plates etc issued) and diesels are dearer than petrol.
