Anyone had any problems with the brakes not holding with weight still on, this is a genuine toyota electric winch.
Checked the sprag type brake, looks in great condition [oil bath system]
Any idea's, even smart one's

My winch is a factory 24v cruiser jobbie. It doesnt ever slip, the brakes seem great. but seems to have a problem with not being able to reverse if it runs out of grunt pulling forward. It makes a clack noise but will not release. Its happened to me twice now... I carry a couple 2.5t ratchet tiedowns to help loosen it off if it happenes again.
It has serious grunt for a factory unit, it makes a mess of the std 8mm cable even if its wound on properly and ive snapped one too that wasnt even that damaged. It also inverted a shackle for me
