Places to fish around Christchurch

Hi Ya all
I have a friend that will be in christchurch over Christmas who would like to go surfcasting while he is down there.

Where are the places to go.
And no he does not currently have a 4x4 so 2 wheel drive access please.

the waimak river mouth is usually good (or was when I was last down there 4 months ago) its a nice short walk from the car park.

Amberley beach and Birdlings Flat as well as the Pendarves Beach

Problem with Birdlings is that you need several days of howling Norwest to flatten it out.

Me and a few friends were thinking of heading out somewhere this Saturday. If you friend is in town, he's welcome to come out with us, just PM me to arrange or txt 0272219711

It's all weather permitting and it's pretty moist out today.
