1kz into a solid axle surf

a friend (not on the form) has a 85 solid axle surf with the usual mods suspension lift body lift front diff moved forward 35's etc but it has an issue, He has done all this work but still has a big hole where the engine goes. On the floor is a 1kz and ikz 5 speed gearbox etc and cpu and loom but it seems he doesn't have the time to do anything about it. Who has done this conversion would you reccomend any of the local places over others? I have heard a place in Kaipoi do a few conversions on 4wd's..

Any advice or previous experiances would be really great thanks.

Place in Kaiapoi is called Kaiapoi repowers, Leithfield has some experience with them and his 1KZ, flick him a PM.
others who can help you out here in Chch, who do this sort of work all the time, and are supporters of the site include;
Steve at 4wdstuff, and Rick at 4wd accessories.
Either of those two will give you some really good sound advice reguardless of whether they get the work or not.

hay wat are u after by the sound of it uve got the bits u just need 2 get in 2it! i work 4 kaiapoi repowers hav fitted 1kz in 2 ln106 can be done! i tell u nw once conversion dne ull never look back! i have fitted 1kz 2 my prado and with right injector pump work they go bloody good
