Winch Challenges

Does anybody know who I would contact to find future Winch Challenge dates.
I live in the south of the South Island and would have to juggle 2 x competitors work commitments along with the logistics of getting to the North Island where most of the events are held.
It would certainly help if I could find out 6-8 months in advance of the approx dates for events.
I have checked out the 4x4 Mags but these don't seem to give me quite enough time to prepare things.
Any help would be appreciated.....

Hey Tommo you keen to do a event, the Rotorua Winch Challenge is on 29, 30,31 july i have one spot empty, you want to come a long?????

Would love to say yes, but unfortunately July and August are out for us due to work commitments, we also have a few more things to do to the truck regarding rules and regulations and that was why we were looking at early next year....but thanks for the invite, I have heard that the Rotorua event is one not to miss....

yep Rotorua was a Boomer! we have three confirmed events in the north island for 2007, Norwest Winch Challenge is on the 9/10/11th march. Tuff Truck challenge (Whakatane) 26-29 April. not sure on details for the Whangarei event as yet. visit

talking of winch challenges who won otago landrover clubs 'hard yakka' challenge? i saw a bit of action on the saturday, couldnt stay on the sunday though.

If you're talking about the one last weekend where Don Preston rolled.....Bruce Hughes won it.

any other results? it looked pretty tough going, im pleased i didnt enter, there seemed a lot of damage to some expensive trucks.
