Injector pump timing Mazda turbo 2.5

Is anyone familiar with the procedure to time the injector pump on these?

Have installed factory new unit - transferred all peripherals over - up and running now. Have been told by Mazda it involves a dial guage bla bla but a friend that works for Mazda has suggested I not take it to my local one as they are cowboys in the workshop lol. Have heard they don't run thier best at factory settings and like to be slightly more advanced. Any views/suggestions would help
