locked rear diff

has annybody welded the rear diff on there escudo if so did it make mutch diffrence anny axel brakeing probs etc

welded mine about a month ago and wished i had done it before.6 trips and i have not blown a front diff :D cause you can cruise over stuff aa lot easier with less revs.do it.

Have not done it but instead of welding the whole diff just fill the side gears with weld were the spider gear teeth are not . Hmm that does not make sence , just fill two or three teeth on the side gears in four spots . This will allow the spider gears to move a we bit .

Not sure that this is a good idea.
Spider gears are hardened. You can get away with welding them if everything is solid.
However if there is some flex in the system the brittle steel that is near the weld deposit will fatigue and crack pretty darn fast.

I suggest the method shown in the photo will work well but hell, what do I know, I've never done this either.
