Winch mount and bull bar build

Post by Dace »

I know it ain't the most extreme build but hey, a guys gotta start some where

this pic is from yesterdays work

Image

Have since final welded the joints and added the front up bars for the fairlead (will post a pic tomorrow) that will connect to the bullbar, which we have shaped the main bumper and top hoop, hope to continue that this weekend.

Have made a mount for the control box under the bonnet to keep it out of the mud etc

Had given it some thought and figured that the 4 winch bolts would sq it and give it the rigidity the angle brackets would have.

On a second look, the winch not really up to that so may go back to angle brackets

up dated pic with fairlead mounts (the top hole will bolt thru bullbar) and have added radiator protection under the chassis rail

Looks good Mike

I have boxed the inside of the winch mount plate and put in the angle braces, off to town tomorrow to get some black paint and then put the whole lot together

good to see you removed the condensor!

Followed Krawlers advice and ripped out the aircon condensor and pipe work, made more room for the winch wiring, and fitted my airhorns up in some of the new space. also cut the clutch handle off and rotated 90 deg clockwise so didn't have cut the grill

Finshed painting the bar, fitted it, removed it, didn't realise the inner chassis bolt are larger, redrilled holes, refitted, fitted winch, wired up and put the cable back on, all ready for action

now, just gotta finish the bull bar to complete the front end, sell the rally car so I can get my 33' wranglers and lift kit, build a rear bumper, guard and sill bars, oh and convert the now useless aircon pump into a compressor
