Do these run electric fans on the rad or the clutch type?

Hi,
They are a viscous fan.
So it gets hot at speed but not when you are going around town?
Check its not got mud between the air conditioning rad and the coolant radiator.
Then I'd be checking the head gasket....

is it using water or just getting hot?
any oil in your water or vice versa?

not using water, no water in oil just getting hot but cools down once speed reduced back to 80km, temp sits at 1/2 way mark at normal times

my guess would have been thermostat then, but i see you tried that...
who did the waterpump swap? if it was a workshop then just take it back to them and get them to sort it.

Could it be the viscous fan? Had similar problem with the safari until I filled it with new gel.
Was the rad flush professionally done? Makes a big difference if you have the rad rodded.

i would suspect either an internal blockage as previously mentioned.
or at a stab in the dark if the timing is too far advanced will cause the engine to run warm under higher load (petrol)

what sort of mitsy? challenger? triton? pajero? year? diesel/petrol? auto/man? weird problem, id be checking the radiator, geting it rodded, and replacing the thermostat(if it hasnt already been done).
