Post by Jerry »

Next Rallywoods working bee will be this coming Sat, some more track clearing, a wee bit of tidyup near the hut which includes making sure the camping green is nice and tidy. and opening up some new (or existing tracks) Bring vegetation clearing tools, spade, Shovel, 4wd thingy to check and recheck newly cleared track etc.

Optional overnight, stay and have a beer or 12 and stay the night

Curly will you fix your starter moter this time or am I going to have to push start you with my truck again

Everyone who turns up and works gets a day and night credit for the next rallywoods trip

Thinking of coming down on Friday night ...
Is anybody willing to put me up for the night ??
I only need a bit of floor.

Hey dazza concidering the distance you have to travel down from the sunny hawkes bay the following weekend would be the better on to come down if you have it free, that'll be the Wgtn Anniversary weekend Rallywoods/Aka's trip which will have a pretty big turnout of trucks and ORE people. Heaps and heaps of tracks to cater for shiney through to hard yakka stuff.

Yes Please, we need to find some new tracks that we havent used before, the only track below the hut I've done is the rubbish dump loop off the main logging road. I was looking at the map in the hut last Sunday and it shows loads of lower tracks... whether there still there or not I dont know... time to find out aye? Bundy might make a good guide if he's about on the weekend?

theres a track down the bottom of fawk hill, you go left down the bottom of it and up the track, and there is a fork. usually you turn left to do the loop, but if you go right there is a washout. Not sure where it goes though

And theres another i found at new years while out for a walk with the rifle, you head straight off the end of the air strip towards Fawk Hill, about 100m down that track from the end of the air strip, there is a little wet patch where the water is sitting in the ruts.

Immediatly before that wet patch on the left is a track. The first 20m of the track is over grown to buggery and you would miss it unless you were on foot, but after that it opens out nicly and leads to one or of the best hill climbs i have ever seen. Its a fawkin monster!!!!!!!! The track doesn't look like its been used for aaaaaages :D

I walked it a bit, but it was getting dark, looks like a long track. Couldn't persuade anayone to give it a go with me, so its up to you guys

Yep book me down for this one again Jerry, after spending last Sunday digging and cutting and clearing and loading and getting prickles in my hands and generally busting my arse all day in the hot sun how could I turn down the oppotunity to do it all again? I've spent this afternoon doing half the maintence my truck needs for The Anniversary Weekend trip so I should be right for this one 8)

I couldnt see any meeting time/place anywhere in the thread so shall we say.....

Meet Cnr Haywoods Hill Rd and Moonshine Rd 9.30am Sat Morning and departing for Green Hut 9.45am

I'll throw my weed eatter on the truck to give the grass a going over around the hut and camp ground, I havent got any small chainsaws at home so I cant bring one of them and I'll throw the spades and loppers in as well
