Google Map BBCode test

Post by Mark »

This feature is coming! I'm just ironing out some wrinkles and will need to document it. Basically, I have set up a special tag that so that you can now embed Google Maps directly into your post.

Here's one that's just a standard Google Map:

Here's a test with a My Maps map that I created for Odlin's Rd:

I'll keep you updated as I get this finalised.

Great feature - have often hoped for something like this!
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

Cool, would be handy as well if we had the maps on here as well that we can load up on our GPS's, maybe have a GPS forum section for map making and stuff etc and GPS Tech etc....

I prefer google maps ( http://maps.google.com ) since it allows satellite views which you can use to pinpoint the place you're looking for.

If we put trail maps here, can we restrict them to members only access. Otherwise all information is public knowledge.

Nothing wrong with public knowledge as such, except for less experienced people accessing the maps here and then getting stuck and asking the cops for a rescue.. Just a thought to protect our own intellectual property (i.e. trail knowledge).
