1kz-te waterpump leaking

Hi All,

My water pump has started to leak, not sure if its out the shaft seal (more than likely) or the gasket (not likely) as i cant see in there. Now it only starts leaking after its been sitting till its dead cold. Once its going its fine, no leakage at all. Anyone changed the seal on one of these before? time to do it? difficulty?

I have a trip to wellington on friday and im not sure i need to change it before i go as its not leaking when its warm.

Mike

Ya gotta go brand new, the time it would take to get one off an old engine and clean it up, plus its an old pump in unknown condition, well ya see the potential for probs aye

a genuine pump would retail for $120+ gst, could maybe get an aftermarket one cheaper or I could hook ya up with a gen at a real good rate when ya come up ta rallywoods

If ya interested, pm me

Cheers
Dave.

unless its the gasket just throw it away - defanatly dont use second hand ones ive done them a few times before, they arnt that badly priced from memory from BNT or Repco. if you cant get one for trade price send me a pm.
