Ignitor?

Gidday sorry this is not 4wd related but it is related to a petrol engine.
i have recently been give a 92 GE telstar, it has the 4cyl 2.0l in it.
It was in my workmates garage and he had shagged the gearbox and couldnt b bothered fixing it.
he also had a new 5speed box from the wreckers but spider gears werent in position so had to split the box an realign them. all good put the box in, replaced afew things here and there.
but i went to fire her up and its only turning over no spark at the plugs, put test light into the two plugs going into the dizzy and two wires lit up (the coil is inside then dizzy)
auto sparkie i know is pissing around and hasnt come to look at it yet so im just curious as to what u guys think it is? i dont know enough about this stuff to make a judgement call. the rotor is spinning like it should. everything looks fine SO do yas reckon itll be the ignitor? is there something else it could be? i have heard the ignitors on these things rnt the best.
