TD27T EGR Removal

Could someone please let me know the correct way to remove me EGR system from my 1990 Terrano TD27T.
all i did was unbolt the pipe and make up some blocks for the holes
one of the gaskets i took off was in good condition so i used that on the exhaust side.the intake side i used gasket sealer.couldnt be bothered chasing down a $1.85 gasket to do F all.
i also unplugged all the sensors...well i lie....i did a turbo conversion on my navara swapping the entire motor over and i just never pluged any of the sensors back in....motor works and havent had any problems so its all ok i guess.
