1980s Hilux surf canopy

Post by CHCHilux »

I've just bought a new canopy for my surf with the intention of doing some chopping to make a sun roof in it, but i'm unsure of the best tool to attack it with.

Would a jig saw be able to cut its way through or will the angle grinder have to make an appearance?

depends what the canopy is made of tho a jigsaw will be able to cut through either fibreglass or metal just have to have the right blade.
truckless and shall remain so till she who wears the pants says otherwise.................lol

I'd be more inclined to use a grinder, the fibreglass may splinter with a jigsaw. Remove the lining from inside first so you don't damage it or bind up the grinder.
wear a dust mask which ever way you do it. Fiberglass dust isn't nice.
