I suppose I should have added a bit more to the subject.
This safari will be almost 100% new tracks from the last three safari's. This has been due to some new blood in the team.
The fee has been set at $250 per vehicle, the thinking so far is that a t-shirt will be included in this. We may even try to add other things too.
When you register we will email out registration forms and information. We will also attempt a pay online system. More to come soon.
But if you can't wait feel free to ask questions here and I'll try my best to answer them.

We have made huge leaps and bounds in safari circles.
We have put together a 15 sec TV add as well as a half hour 4wd doco thing about the safari and club. These will screen mainly on the community TV stations around NZ. We have also set up an online booking and payment system.
Please visit
http://www.4x4action.co.nz/Lakes08/LakesSafari2008.htm for the details.
Just over 6 weeks to go. Better get that Rotorua accommodation sorted early as it will be a busy weekend with the local Targa in town also.
Cheers
George

Classic. Yes please post anywhere you can.
No railway run anymore. We have lost so much of it now that we don't bother heading out that way anymore.
This years safari is all new terrain.
Cheers

More Safari info.
We are well down on numbers this year. As most of these events have been. I reckon the price of fuel is one of the contributing factors. I'm sure the weather will be lovely.
Still plenty of room left if anyone is interested.
Cheers

yeah i,d be keen on doing 1 or 2 days,
three is just too big chunk away from commitments and plus the kids may or may not get sick of sitting in the tank for the whole 3 days

I'd love to say yes, but its a three day event and the thought of people turning up on day two after the scrutineering and safety briefing and that sort of stuff has already been done would be a nightmare.
There is definitely nothing wrong with starting the event and not finishing it. We quite often get families that are pulled away for one reason or another.
Have a think about it.

We'll just leave it at, I know more than you. ha ha.
Been running these things for a while.
I agree that the idea of having staggered fees could work for some events. I might suggest to the 4wd club that I only pay for half a membership this year and only attend half the trips I normally would. See how that goes down.
Its pretty hard to organise these events on voluntary labour. We need to keep them as simple as possible.
Cheers
