Range Rover rear axle/diff upgrade to 24 spline?

Presently replacing the front and rear 10 splines with 24 splines from a Disco. Anyone know if the the rear just requires the hubs swapped straight from the Disco onto the Range Rover (1981) axle casing to accept the new axles. I know the diff bolts straight in but not sure on the hubs. Have just replaced the whole front unit so no problems with that end - other than stuffed swivel pin bearings ...
Cheers

I'm taking hubs and stubs across.
While you're doing that you'll want to change the hub seals from the discovery grease seals to the oil seals. The discovery axles have seals around the stub axles which keep the diff oil out of the bearings, which are lubed by grease.
If you don't swap the stubs (with inner oil seals) across and don't change to oil seals then you'll get oil leaking out your hubs.
What have you done about the disco rotoflex flange? I'm currently in the middle of this same job myself, just awaiting my new hub seals to arrive.

Not sure about the rotoflex sorry. I just bought front and rear complete diffs and bolted the complete front in brakes and all no probs. I bolted the rear diff centre straight into the original casing but then ran out of time. The original drive shaft bolted up no worries.

The disco I got my diffs from had a rubber donut (rotoflex) in place of the usual last universal on the rear diff.
So the rear diff driveflange is 3 bolt instead of the usual four, I've gotta find a normal four bolt drive flange to fit up. I'm not sure exactly what date they fitted them but getting rid of them is a fairly common proceedure.
Maybe your one was already converted. I'm jealous.

The rubber coupling was fitted from facelifted 1994 onwards vehicles although there are some vehicles without.
Vehicles with 24 spline axles from late 1992 and 1993 had four bolt flange.
Easy enough to change over. Remove three bolt flange centre with a puller. Undo pinion nut (count number of turns) and remove flange. Replace with four bolt flange and tighten same number of turns. Use your old Range Rover drive shaft and bolt up.
Only part to source is the fine spline four bolt flange.

You don't happen to have a spare? I've already removed the 3 bolt flange and am awaiting new seals from the UK.

You after the one that bolts to the transefer case?

Nope, the drive flange on the diff.
