Does anyone know when they changed the Mu's from the 2.8 to the 3.1L diesel?

The ones listed on tardme seem to have a big overlap. But I realise people on tardme don't always know what they're selling.

Thanks.

How about intercoolers, when were they factory fitted?

Aha, so the Mu's I've seen with bonnet scoops would have been conversions.
Appreciate the help.

The changeover from 2.8 to 3.1 motors in the Mu happened October 1993. There is a very good website (in Russia which imports masses of vehicles from Japan) which gives factory specs for all jap makes and models. It is:

english.auto.vl.ru/catalog

Check it out for detail on every 4x4 etc. Makes interesting reading.

It's very similar to the amayama one.

Shame they don't list fuel economy for the diesel vehicles though.
Here's another one I found useful.

Sites look good - the 2.8 will do 30-32 mpg - mine averaged 32 over 120,000ks - and the 3.1 in the range 24-28 - depending on driver and conditions.

I'm on the hunt for a 2.8L manual one.
It'd be shameful to own a mu that got worse fuel economy than my Isuzu powered rangie. :D Rangie has averaged 10km/l (28mpg) for the last 5000km.
