Would 70 series power steering work in a 40, just the box?

I have just recently done this, Though i took the whole axle and box and grafted it all together.

You will need to modify the steering shaft and add a bearing to support it at the fire wall. The back web of the shock needs some grinding to get the steering shaft past and the battery box will most likely need moved

The tie rod end on the tie rod will need replaced, so a custon tie rod will most likely be required, (I am pretty sure that the treads are a different diameter.

You would probably be better off with a #60 steering box as the pitman arm swings forwards, with the #70 the box really needs to be mounted forward of the front bib so doesn't look as elegant.

So YES it can be done, but there is a bit of shaggin about.

Yes, you just need to make sure it is mounted in the correct position as a 60 series box and a 70 series box steer in the opposite directions. The 60 series box should be mounted on the drivers side of the relay rod whereas the 70 series box should be mounted in front of the relay rod (further forward).

You may also need to check for clearance of tire rub on the box if running big rubber.

I hope that made sense.
