I don't want to thread-jack 86-surf's thread, so am asking this in a new thread.
In the 8-valve 1600 TBi escudo, has anyone found what seems to be the optimum exhaust size? At the moment i have the standard system with just the catalytic converter removed. It runs OK but will fairly soon be needing a replacement from the headers back. I have been told that a 2" all the way through is likely to reduce low-down torque, and that is the strongest point of the 8V.
I also have a supercharger waiting to go on (I think it's an SC14) when I get around to it, but no timeframe for that set down yet (read: budget). Will that make a difference to the optimum exhaust size?
Finally, my daughter also wants the truck to have a bit more of a 'note' to the exhaust, provided it doesn't detrimentally effect the performance. Are these conflicting requirements?
There must be some of you out there that have run the scuds for so long, that you have been through this excercise before, I hope.
Exhaust size for 1.6?

Re: Exhaust size for 1.6?
go the 2 inch way you wont lose any torque and will be fine for the blower later, if you want it to have a note just use one free flow muffler , you could listen to mine but i dont know where the albums are.
