Haha, yeah I sure do. He even had the shed all closed up so I didn't see it until I got in there with the sanding gear ready to go

Main challenge now is not to wreck it at the Safari... Might test out how well it crawls

She's got a wide rear end thats for sure! 80 Series rear diff + 50mm wheel spacers to clear calipers + 15x10" rims with -44" offset + 18" wide rubber = FAT ARSE

niblik wrote:now you'll be too scared to get her dirty and scratch her up.. :!:

To True, I'm even more concerned that I might scratch it infront of Ron  For the first time ever I can see my reflection in the shiny paint (truck looks nice - reflection still ulgy)

niblik wrote:ya gonna put a windscreen in? and whats ya plans for a roof, if any?

Yeah dude, the doors and windscreen have been painted on one side so far. Got to let that harden before painting the other side. Also still got to do the front grill and headlight surround which I'll sand and spray can black during the week.

Main job left is to wire brush the inside and prime + Rhino coat the inside of the tub. Heaps of finishing off stuff to do - lucky we've got a long weekend coming up.

For the roof I'm wanting to get a soft top made. Those tires stick along way outside the guards so going to need some protection from flying mud - plus keep the sun of my ginga balding head

Dude, Tim is in Aussie so thought I would have had longer than that to prepare

I'm not quite there yet. Still got some bare steel that needs to be painted and a few finishing touches like rear bump stops. Wont be ready for the weekend sorry :( But should get most of it finished by Tuesday

Cheers dude, After seeing it in primer I was considering going with silver or a gunmetal gray but stoked I went with the blue. With the windscreen and doors on she will stand out in a crowd (or a BUSH  )

Yip, if you make it to the Rodney Safari 2nd weekend of Nov come up and say hi. I'll be the guy standing next to the blue truck with a smile from ear to ear

Few more little things done today,

Bolted the new snorkel air cleaner step up together - just need the hose and clamps and some more insto-bling

Image

Image

Spent a bit of time with a wire brush on the inner tub,

Image

And roller-ed on some rustkill metal primer,

Image

Second coat will go on tomorrow before the Hippo Liner.

Also painted and fit the front grill and headlight surround;

Image

Feels like the To-Do list is getting smaller and less significant all the time :D
