Its come along way since october 05

Well I got my self a 1988 hilux surf on friday nite, its got 158,000k's on the clock, VERY VERY tidy condition, bullbars shitty mud and snow tyers (30") and came with a crappy crapy player.
I have installed my pioneer cd player in it now, fitted some mud thanks to sunday afternoon.
Its got a 2.4L Turbo Deisel boat anchor under the bonnet.

Image

Plans for the future include, a rear shackle lift, winding the front torshon bars up. A 50mil body lift. some mud tyers, either 31" or 32" and a snorkle.
Here it is clean

You should go back to that same place in your earlier photo and see if the rear wheel still lifts.

Matt.

There was a coment on the us site "I am just going for a internal cage and earning to drive porperly"

The exo cage look is growing on me tho especially with the bush marks on mine. will an exo cage be concidered structural and need to be certified?

At least white cant show from a distance. Good luck Matt

I also note there is an internal cage in that truck, are internal cages stronger? There does not seem to be much bracing with either cage.

what are the wof issues to an internal cage, or internal storage rack?

The rest of the truck looks expencive too now if only I could win that lotto :D Oh well toys built are much better than toys bought. (hope not to offend anyone with that)

Cheers Steve

Well now that its got a new engine its time to get more flex, the stock front shocks measure 29cm compressed and 45cm extended.
so to fix this some shocks measuring 37cm compressed and 63cm extended have now gone in

Im not getting full drop from them yet and will have to mod the stearing before I go much futher.
