You guys are gonna have a great trip...especially those who haven't been before, but i seriously doubt you will need chains...maybe if the main highway gets closed, but seriously i've been up the MaCaulay and Godley more times than I can remember during winter and i never needed chains...mind you - I do drive a Nissan 8)

edit: whats fuel availability like once we get into the backblocks, my 350 will need regular re-fueling, I'll have 2x 20l jerry cans for spare fuel? :?:

Yeah I sent another one last night but I messed it up somehow as its not in my sent messages thingie. All G! Sent another one just before to you guys so fingers crossed.

Now this I did message haha. We are meeting the others on the Sat morning at the bowser in Tekapo which is the last place to get it. I'd fill everything up in Ashburton then just top up in Tekapo as the prices are probably higher being a holiday spot off the main drag.
Wouldn't think you would need more than 40L spare but I've never owned a 350

Yeah thats the part I'm conscious of, I can get about 400km range on a tank on the highway but off road you can easily drop down to about 100km, might throw another 20l in and a 6m tow rope as well

My step bro is taking his wife and sxc40 is taking his gf so she won't be the only woman there.

Mine can't get time off work so I possibly have a spare seat atm if anyone is keen.

Tell her to harden the feck up!. My wife just spent 3 weeks in the bush with 4 blokes who are 4wd mad, and my two sons who can't get enough of the 4wheeling and the bush. And she has managed to maintain her feminine side.

Got a spare seat also if anyone is interested. Need a spotter for the track, might be somewhat hard to find in the snow.

I'm on my way, got to drop the dog off, do a couple of erands in town then pick Reece up and off to the ferry terminal to see if we can clear customs and immigration and sail down to the cold part of the country. Not sure where we're meeting up with Graham and jerry but they'll know which part of the boat to find us in if we dont meet up first
