Hi, I did a calculation when going back to diesel, I took my partners car (Honda 1.5) and broke it down to what the car cost p/km on fuel consumption. I then took my Pajero 2.8 and broke it down p/km and added the RUC onto the cost. Honda Costs $0.19 p/km Pajero Costs $0.16 p/km + RUC $0.05 = $0.21
The only pain in ass is the rego which is so expensive.
I had A Bighorn 3.2 V6 which cost $0.39 p/km
Glad I went back to diesel
After repairs. If there are nuts and bolts left over, the job has been done right.
wow, i use my 200 TDI Disco about once a month so might as well keep paying WOF cause it doesnt warrent me to drive it more or play with the speedo. And the speedo is down by the transfer case and pig to get too in a hurry on a good so couldnt be bothered..............why couldnt it be electric like the Safaris..........?
I only own the TDi cuase my last three V8s took $170 to fill and sucked the tank dry when towing the bush truckl to Ngaroma forest and back to Hammy............not even any fumes left to sniff!!! Now the TDi is weaker and slower BUT its 3/4 tank at $97......im ok for that, more gas for my 350!!!!!

A bit late for this however, you may not be aware that 98 % of all freight carted in NZ is carted in less than a 100km radius. Move that to rail, still need a truck at each end more handling, more damage.
