So long as you have a check valve in the brake booster line I think all will be ok . The thinking here is that if you want to be on teh bake you are off the gas ( well most times ) so the butterfly ( throttle valve) is closed hence engine manifold is at a vacum , as it wants more air than what is making its way past the idle valve etc . Hence the brake booster will have its vac for boost .

Any thoughts on this ? Will find out soon enough I guess .

You shouldnt need to do anything to the braking system as it will (should) already have a non return valve in it.
If your going to start mucking around with wastegates you might be better off using a turbo.
My suzuki went pretty good with the supercharger but, if I was going to do it again I would use a turbo.
Just my thoughts though. :)

I checked the brake booster, and yeah, it does have a non return valve.

Anyway, i got the supercharger today, it is not in as good condition as I thought, with a lot of oil all over the place (hopefully not from the seals), so I have given it a clean out.

However, I check the rotation of the crankshaft on the vitara, and I think the direction is the wrong way!!!

Can I run the supercharger in the other direction? Does anyone know if that is going to be a problem? It turns ok the other way, but it doesnt feel as good.

And there also isnt as much room as I thought for it under the bonnet, so I am going to have to relocate the power steering reservoir, and change the fittings on the aircon as the stick up too high. But hopefully it will mount up alright.

Of those that have already put a supercharger on theirs, do you have some pics of how you have mounted it? Just to get my mine working,

Well, fingers crossed.

Hey sorry J for not getting back to ya I sorta missed the notification on the post
As for mounting it upside down I don't see why not I've seen plenty of pics of these things mounted to V8's in some sick angles and they seem to go allright, mechanically there is no reason why it shouldn't work upside down

Just make certain there is sufficent oil in the ends to lube the bearings

Cheers Reece

It turns out that it will be rotating the correct way, I just wasn't thinking very well when I looked at it the other day.

Check out my build thread which I started, hopefully I can keep it up to date.
