P.S. Im not really that worried ill just bolt it on and off for WOF's, just thought if it was legal Ide leave it on.
1. A trailer must be fitted with a tow coupling that is fit for purpose and in sound condition.
So there you go. Its fine for wof. And arguably the standard coupling would fail in this case, as its not designed for high flexability therefore NOT fit for purpose. (oh, go have a read- it says it (A trailer must be fitted with a tow coupling that is fit for purpose and in sound condition) three times. So as long as the trailer is fitted with a tow coupling that is fit for purpose and in sound condition, there's no reason an inspector can fail it. (I put it three times too )
Awesome mate, Ill just leave it fitted for the next WOF then and print this off to take with me incase of any confusion. Cheers for that!
They've got access to VIRM online at WOF place. It wouldn't surprise me if many WOF inspectors fail the coupling initially as they haven't encountered any different couplings before. But if they refer to the VIRM (as they must do- not make their own judgements) there's nothing saying coupling has to be a particular style/type
fathers just gotten one for campin duties too so may have to seconder it into my owner ship and mod as you did jezza.. be mint for those lovely jaunts away..
Yeah it was definatly worth doing, seems as though there may be a few of them getting round down our way soon. I can think of 5 that will be setup for off road!
Hi. Just wondering how the camper has held up to rough roads and off road.
I'm looking at getting a camper trailer or modding a pop top. Just thought the pop top being wood etc might still fall apart over time
I can answer for him, not sure how much he visits the site, its still going strong, hasn't done anything too stressful in it but there is not much on it that can fall apart. I have built a bigger one that I should do a build thread for I guess,
