If you have a Safari, i think You would be a fool not to run a factory pto winch, used sensibly they are a kick ass winch. Speed, power, control, and a primo freespool and if you use decent sized rope they will give you plenty of notice if your pushing them too hard.

The discussion really is ridiculous. Bang for you buck the pto is a no brainer. You'd have to spend ALOT more to get a 12 volt winch to pull the whale the way a pto will.

i agree with that also NJV6-you know my truck and it is a whale!. as said earlier i have purchased a pto now.im not doing winch comps so dont need speed in a winch. am happy with my decission.just need to fit it up now.
