Sounds like a typical council balls up to me...couldnt organise a root in a brothel !!!!
I say we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth either. Its way better than no access and I for one do not mind a little drive to access it.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Its not a gift....its something we have always had & they just arent taking all of it away...dont think they are being kind to us..they arent...if they thought they could get away with stopping everyone from going there alltogether they would. This is just another step towards banning everyone from using the outdoors.

Just to clarify. Looking at the Map Kiwipete put on,
Harris Road the road running from South Eyre Road on the west side of the Eyre diversion is actually Diversion Road.
Where that road meets the groyne is the start point Map reference E2471300 N5752513, from that point heading west (up stream) to the double power lines is the areas to which I referrer.

That entry is pretty close to the power lines - visible on that map. I was up that way a number of weeks ago with hilux happy and we headed up to the powerlines and I headed out via that exit.
Is this just a very small area? or is it another set of lines as I think there are a couple sets??
And is it from where harris road comes out or diversion road as there is a distance from where they meet the road beside the stopbank.
Is it the area fenced or some how marked so people don't end up wandering down stream into other areas and causing trouble for us all?
A map sketching out the area designated would be ideal.
From what I get from the other posts, the whole area from there up stream to basically the gorge and a fair portion on the other side is public assess but this particular area is the part being promoted for general use and the rest recommended for training and club trips etc is that correct?

If you want to play around, then offer to help turn the park into a proper 4wd park. Actons like these would only help give the community a positive perception of drivers of 4wds that others don't by their hooning under the bridge in full view of the public. If you want to hoon come on one of my grade 5 trips on the coast, try out the winch challenge tracks

Hey Al doing a trip to the west coast in a couple of days, And was wandering if you can give me some track names, directions, if you could lead me in the right direction, not asking you to give me details just lead me to find out more. Did Big River the other week, found it quite mild but we did'nt go off the track too much. We have the west coast DOC tracks but looking for more. Cheers Simon
