Thanks Pete. Heres what said x member looked like in place.

Re: Tomsoffroad & Customs
When he does his sas, the cross member will have to go up over the drive shaft to allow it to swing down. I do like your fab work thou.
If you break it... build it stronger.

Nah it should be alright. I mocked it up with a double cardon joint I had lying around and it had clearance through to 28deg

Its back on its wheels now (been slack with the pix
) So all I have to do now is pull it to bits, fully weld, paint and reassemble
Then there is a auto locker to swap into a 4.3:1 rear diff and make a drop bracket for the rear diff

Seen cracks before but this is a new one I've never seen on a Surf

Yip no problems there. Similar amount of work as the one I built on that Pajero. That cost $1350 + Gst. Maybe abit more with a winch fitted but bugger all.

Re: Tomsoffroad & Customs
Well the Sas is finished and the IFS hub swap
Now I have to swing it around and chuck in the 80 series rear coils, put in the new rear brake hose, fabricate a panhard drop bracket for the rear, swap the rear diff head and install a lokrite in the rear
Oh yeah and be at certifiers by 1pm tomorrow
Best I go to bed
Over and out
