Can PeteFJ40 Please contact me, either by PM or E-Mail, (just click on the corresponding button at the bottom of this post).

I sent you a PM on the weekend but it can't have got through. :(

I need to ask you a question about using a picture of your truck, in a wee project I am putting together.

Cheers

Alex

Hi Alex.
Re using a picture of my Toyota fj40? Go for gold mate!
It would be good to hear what your plans are.
I guess as long as you're not an anti 4x4 person that will use it against me, I can't see any problems.

Btw.
I never recieved a pm from you. Hope things are working all good for you at your end.

Pete.

Cheers for that Pete, No I'm not going to use it against you, Mike has seen the pic, and reason for it, and I think he can vouch for it, don't want to say too much as it may take me a couple of weeks to finish what I'm doing.

It may take a couple of days as well, depending on how things click together

It will become obvious soon.

Cheers

Just an update on the photo's for this event, I have closed my Album from the event that everyone was adding to.

If you do have some more pics that you discover, just flick me a message or E-Mail me, and I will sort out getting them into the album.

Cheers

Just in case some of you are still watching this thread for an update on my little project, and not the other thread on this event, I have produced a DVD of footage from the day.

It is available via the Forum shop.

Were your suspicions correct fweddy :?:

PR wrote:The scoring was a joke  if you went on to the course a stoped straight away you got 100 points if you went on and had to reverced (which most people had to do cause it was so tight) and nocked over two pegs you got 140 points. :? :? :? :? out of my 2200 odd points 1600 was due to revercing

Sorry for the newbie question but how does the scoring work?

I could see that as soon as forward motion stopped the stage was finished. Why do they make the course so tight when it's impossible for many to get around the very tight bends? Like that cabbage tree - OK if the vehicle had skid steering but for most they need to reverse. I noticed some stages had harder (tighter radius) bits for the vehicles equipped to make the sharp turns.

It may be easier if someone could just point me to an already published scoring system that these events use. Thanks - Tony.

I hope the organizers learnt from the last Sheffield mud plug. I hope this year isn't as tight.

haha Al. :D
I'm merely jogging peoples memory of the event. Isn't it normal for people to learn from past mistakes? I dunno, I'm just guessing that answer would be YES!

Only taking the piss my friend

In my experience in healthcare, there is no such thing as normal, everybody has a personality disorder and is f**ked up, and as a manager I find most people DO NOT learn from their mistakes. There are exceptions to this rule and you may be one of them. Am also looking forward to it, but I am not competing though. You need a winch bitch?

I get the piss taken alot Al. It's all good. :D bring it on.

I was just trying to bring up thoughts from last years Sheffield event. Ask Rick when you're at his shop next time about it. There were a few things he thought could of been improved. Scoring was another area.
I think the event close to Hamner he's planning will be interesting. It sounds awesome. He's learnt lots from the Sheffield event.
