Cheers guys for the comments :D I just want it finished or at least running now..
Thought I'd have the bonet and doors done but had a club fun day and it was a blast..
When I got home after needed to eat.. I started the radiator surround and fan assembly.. I tried to mount it up but.. :x it didn't want to fit.. front x member made the rad stick up too high  .. and I was thinking of pushing it back closer to the engine to give me more room out front..
This picture is standard.. notice how much room there isn't..
Image
and here it is now.. notice the little standoffs that I made..lol, I still have to make the lower ones to stop the rad fromo swaying in the breeze..
Image
You can see on the first pic that the surround is very long.. I cut most of it off to make it like this..
Image
stuck some foam around the back so it wouldn't rub the radiator
Image
and here is the fan attached to rad
Image
all in all from original size of over 300mm it is now just a little over 160mm thick.. 8) .I also fixed a small leak too.. been there for ages..lol
I connected up all the hydrolic fan piping and cooler, made the pipes run a little better and trimmed off a bit.. looks way better this time then when I did it the first time.
Will finish the lower brackets tomorrow and might do the doors and bonet.. will see how I feel.. cheers K

I think from memory it came off a camry wagon as I couldn't find one off the soarer and apparently they are the same..I have run this fan now for over 3 years and it has been faultless.. 8) Mind you, you have to have the right ecu to run that side of things as well

I have to agree with Glen, when this thing is humming it sounds like a jet ..lol Suck a golf ball through a garden hose.. excuse the expression..
And another advantage is that if you want to remote the radiator.. you can make up the lines to where it is and it'll still shift the air as good, wouldn't want ya fingures in there..lol

get a temp switch fitted to radiator and connect to the soleniod valve via a relay, works fine

yep as a alternative to the ecu control..which I have so there's no problem..I also run a switch to turn it off(the ecu) for water crossings as If I leave it on.. gawd dam.. shite everywhere..lol

well I didn't get to do the doors and bonet as I was plumbing things up in the engine bay..
Gawd as I have changed a lot of things.. there are a LOT of new brackets to make and bolt on to make it work..
Here is the power steering res relocated to make for shorter piping etc
Image
Here is the Hydrolic side of things done.. made the plumbing shorter and re rooted things..
Image
Here is the radiator overflow bottle.. had to make a couple little brackets etc .. worked out ok in the end..
Image
Here is the power steering cooler line.. had to make up a few little brackets to hold all the pipes in place.. talk about time consuming..
Image
And lastly I started looking at the wiring and spageti I've got.. as the original loom had a hiding too.. so I tidied up a bit of that..
Started the engine ecu and assorted bits and bobs.. looking like it'll work out ok..
Image
Put the battery on and powered her up.. things are working they should.. so far  I ran the starter mota for a few minutes to get the oils running through the lines to make sure no leaks..all good so far.
I'll start on the rest later.. still a a few things to do before I can start her up.. and check to see if things are going to be right..
Got a Holden VR airbox coming and I think it'll be about the right size I need to make it a little more factory looking.. have to wait till later on in the week before I get it..

Well I been doing a lot of back ground stuff to get it ready to start..

And there you are.. started running like a dream.. BUT LOUD as straight outter the headers..
Don't mind the wiring issues on the front gaurd..LOL it'll get sorted but I really just wanted to try to remember how to put it all together.. working good atm.. More will follow when I begin the tidy up etc..
Can you tell I'm a builder..

well bit of an update.. things are slower now..
Working on electrics and we are going to extend the loom into behind the seats....
these ecu's are moving to that area,

Main ECU, approx 65 wires
Fuel pump ECU, approx 8 wires
Fan ECU, approx 6 wires..
All will be apporx 1.5-2m longer.
Ignitors will stay close to engine.

Since starting up we have been pondering the options etc and have come up with that.
Started to get exhaust and pto winch sorted out.. looks like the pto will pop through a hole on the passenger side front chassis member straight into the winch drive.. , Have to mock up the drive shafts offset a little to allow for the exhaust to run.. and that will be interesting exercise too  the exhaust will need a complete remake as the chassis it came out of is totally different to whats now.. :(
Ran clutch master and slave to gbox and it has worked out ok too..
Have placed my doors on the truck and they need lipstick..otherwise they are looking great. Same for bonet..
I'm thinking of probably needing a 2-3" lift or even more once the winch gets installed as there is only approx 20mm atm till the bump stops hit  , she is deff front heavy..LOL
Probably going to go with 33" tahs so I can play inter club games.. and get some 35's for later on..
Once the ecu's are placed I'll post up some pics..

bit of an update..
Picked this up today..
Image
and
Image
Can you guess what it's for..?
And got real farked off with the ecu and it came off looking like this.. Notice the sink .. LOL All wires and tyes are severed...
Image
Also have got the tranny crossmember all done and dusted.... There is no way it's even coming to close to comin off..  Did a few little things to get the winch sorted as I need this mounted before the exhaust can be started..
Might take a couple pics in weekend to show the tranny member.. 8 x 12.9 cap screws.. holding it on.. .
Still have to paint the doors and bonet LOL
More later  Cheer K

Well over the last couple nights have been working on my winch setup.. and after a few head scratches and a few beers.. I came up with this..
Image
and some side views
Image
and
Image
I haven't chopped anything off the front rails and the winch sticks out by 80mm (15mm past the original front chassis member.. )
Image
So I can basiclly make up the front bar work and mount straight to the front and keep it nice and close.. 8)
I still have to connect the shafts together as well but thats working out just as good
More later Cheers K

Well been busy with a lot of small stuff lately..
Also just about completed the PTO install..Just need a 1 1/2"bearing and carrier to finish it and a air ram..
You will have to excuse the birdshyt on the bearing carrier on the front chassis member.. welding upside down is not my forte'...lol
here are a couple pics
Image
and
Image
You can see the steering dampner as well.. same size in every way compared to the original 80 one..
Also got the hand brake all completed.. now I have to move the seats over about 40mm so the lever doesn't hit the seat..lol
ECU is in the process of being moved..along with all the others needed..
Hopefully that all will be completed in the weekend..

Well got the winch more complete today.. lazy day in the garage..
Welded an extension to the mount to bolt the housing to. Then I had to weld a couple little extensions to the extension as it was too short.. lol It's not going to come off in a hurry.. Just got to give it some lipstick and it's all good to go..Need a air ram..then set.

Well we have had success in relocating the ecu that runs the engine..
You'll have to excuse the tools on the floor..
Image
and
Image
hehe.. basicly loom has been extended about 600mm and we have cut out about 20 wires now that are no longer required..Trans stuff.. Had a code 78 which is fuel pump but I had forgotten to wire it up for the test run.. but once connected it runs great.. so now we have to relocate about 10 more wires and mount to the back of the cab.. then it's done..
Oh the windscreen is in now too.. 8) Big thanks to H20 for helping me get this sorted..cheers K

only petrol and not Diesel which I have.. so I've basicly ignored everything in the engine bay and will pull what I don't need :? .. as when I get the ecu done it'll have it's own dedicated feed + relays so it won't be relying on any other fuses, so it'll make for a quicker diagnose time if something goes wrong..There are a lot of dead feeds that will be removed if I can..
Hope that helps ya..

the ECU should fit inside the dash on top of the glovebox inner, the link has enough room...thats where mine sits
