Best of luck to those that go today I think there well be a pretty big turn out.

I f'ing hope so! I would hate to think I am wasting a day I could be getting my house ready for sale for a big lack of interest from everybody.

But I was also told that the Rally on Sunday would be pointless. As it's to late to make any kind of change on the plans that the council and powers that be already have on the area.
The boats already sailed, so to speak...

A little defeastist somewhat :( . It aint over until the faty lady sings.

Big ups to Graham and his helpers for organising this event. Around 200 odd trucks was a pretty good turnout. :P
Now lets see if our voice is heard

Good day, good turn out. Thanks to all those that took the time today to make an effort, it is really heartening to see. We ended the day with about nine trucks starting out down the river and the number grew as others decided to tag with us. really soft :D , differet river at present :? . Deep in places :D , had water flowing in the windows at one stage :D .Thanks guys for supporting the cause.

Well we made the papers:
http://issuu.com/the.star/docs/110271nc?mode=embed&layout=http%3A%2F%2Fskin.issuu.com%2Fv%2Fsoftlight%2Flayout.xml&backgroundColor=dddddd&showFlipBtn=true&proShowSidebar=false&logo=http://starnews.co.nz/images/MagicBox4.gif&logoOffsetX=0&logoOffsetY=0
Now we need individuals to follow up with letters to the editor around the issue only coming to a head since the "new landowners" came in to play, and how an older but still current landowner would like us to keep using the river bed. Need to keep the pressure up on this one guys, just because you turned up to the rally and it's all over doesn't mean the fight has stopped. The fat lady aint signing just quite yet boys.

I would personally like to say a big thanks to all that turned out to help save access to one of our traditional 4WD areas, this will be a warning to other councils that may want to go down the same path that we will as a group not be forgotten.
As 4WDers when we use areas for our entertainment remember it is a Privilege not a Right, If a club trip or a group of friends remember we are being watched, so leave the area better than you found it, have fun and consider other users.
Sorry I couldn't make it on Sunday, 90Th birthdays don't come around that often and we had family from all over NZ and Aussie.
As ---- Al says,

THE FAT LADY AIN'T SANG YET,

FITZY.

That was awesome Guys and Gals. Your support made it all worth while.
The Newspaper article that Al refers to uses just about all the report I sent in. The next one is the Hurunui News on Thursday Week.

Letters to the North Canterbury News can be sent by email to cullen.smith@starcanterbury.co.nz

Folks I've spoken to him and hes keen as mustard to keep things cranked up.

I have had the privilege of reading Al's letter. Its a cracker but just the one on it's own means very little. We need a whole page of them.

Even someone to play devils advocate to get a debate going.

Advertising has appeared in the 2 local papers as well. Paid for by the Sausages you bought on Sunday.

I have also been in Contact with the HDC and asked if the "Gods Marbles" had been moved. They will investigate.

They have now received over 500 submissions.

Keep them coming in. If you want a copy of the one signed on Sunday PM me or email me graham@orarinursery.co.nz

Lose the fight on this one and the next one is lost too.

Cheers

Graham

They will all be lost Graham, that's why I keep harping on about this being a test case. They will refer back to this case in a hundred years or so, that's if there are still fossil fules around for us to use. Can you keep us posted on the newspaper please grahm and when the letters start appearing in print. I would be happy to start a debate witht he plonkers, used to do it at school and I very rarely loose an arguement

Yesterday I laid a complaint with the HDC. I told them I had heard reports of 'Gods Marbles' being shifted by heavy machinery.
There has been no resource consent issued and under the District plan they are considered significant. Therefore requiring consent.
It will be investigated by the HDC compliance officer. I will keep you posted as I wont let this just go away.

Ah shit, this just gets better with each passing day :D . If that turns out to be correct, the landowners on the workiong party will loose all credability :D . Hope those jokers are watching this thread  . If my letter gets printed it is going to create a shit storm. All allegations made in my letter are correct.

This is not directed at you Al, rather to all contributors within these forums: It is one thing for an allegation to be correct and quite another for it to be evidenced to a standard that can stand legal challenge of defamation; I suggest it is prudent to be cautious as regards that which is is tabled in print and public forum.

I for one have made a formal written submission to the HDC, and too encourage others to do likewise.
