Yip it would BUT if there is any problem then it involves removing all the shyte to get to it.. Where i'm putting it will make for easy inspection and generally look good..

Got two cut and joined (to add a double cardon to the longer driveshaft) and painted for $60... Mates rates and no guarantee of being balanced

lol that says it all.. as I want a garrantee when I'm doin 6800 rpm and the driveshaft shyts itself then I would want the option of going to the maker and saying "fix it" :) so in that sense I don't mind paying a little more..cheers OH got a double cardin on my front shaft for free.. and it's balanced.. :P

Wel had an interesting day today and as a result this is what I got.. for FREEE... about 90mm throw and the shaft is about 12-15mm..
Image
And then I started this
Image
Just need to weld on some lugs, then make a pivot, hook it up and it should be sweeeet.. 8) Hook it all up to the free piping I got, get a couple solenoids and it's sweet.. 8)

$550 isnt that bad for a custom shaft from Beattys. Mine was similar price. new dc joint. custom new shaft. $500 cash, 5 years ago too.
they do make very good drive lines though
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..

well been working on exhaust now and so far it's been a right handfull.. Here is what I've done so far..
Image
and
Image
and together
Image
you have to understand that this build has been totally budget oreintated.. so I've reused my old system and had to re cut almost everything to get it to fit.. anyway it looks good when like this
Image
It has thermal rapping and alloy tape(thought it would be better than nothing) to try to keep heat away from the brake lines and fuel lines.. Left side has a double rap so should be ok..
Once it's on I'll try to post a pic from under neath so you can appreciate where it heads..
cheers till later K

well I've been trying to srot out the electrical shyt.. what a farking drama..
Well I've got the temp/ fuel gauges working when hooked up..
Oil pressure needs a calibrated sender..? BJ7# 4 banger if anyone has a spare..
Was trying to sort out the cooling ecu and the fact it wasn't working.. Well it turned out to be a crimp that had crimped off the wire inside so there was no +12v going to it..  took me 2 weeks to find that one.. after almost taking everything to bits considering what we have done..(thinking a dud solder join somewhere... ) but turned out for the best.. :D
Also while I was working on it tonight it started to act all crazy after I got the coooling side sorted..Thinking to myself.. FFS what now.. after clouds of smoke.. sounding like it as choking on itself..figured out it was just about out of gas..LOL  filled her up sweet as.. phew.. so now I just need to hook up the tacho, and a few gauges when I've tidied it up, then get the tail lights working etc..
Raise it a little..(3-6"s)
New tahs
Cert.. etc..
will post up a pic or too later.. this weekend is out for me as doing support for Motatapu again.. if anyone is cruising past I'm at Aid 3.. where all the fun is..(and lots of beer   ) laters

If you mean a std toyota 13bt or 3b sender, you can get them from toyota for about $100 brand new. I didnt bother keeping my original one as it leaked pretty badly around the swage, so I got a new one for the 350

PTO pneumatic ram is getting mounted, it looks like it will work ok..
Image
and
Image
and no it's not staying there in the front.. it will end up here

So it will be protected by the front fascia panel..
Got the cooling side sorted now too(not sure if I mentioned that)

Well been doing bugger all lately,
These turned up today
Image
It's sitting dam near perfect for what I wanted..
And then I took it for a fat round the block.. But there is a mean miss happening under load..LOL doesn't surprise me considering everything thats been done..AND there was a mean stink coming from under neath as well.. firgured out it was the glue burning off from the foil tape.. fawkme it was bad....LOL
On the up side.. gawd it was good..  8) A lot more power than the old 70 so I need to finalise the electrics and then work out the missing..
Need a few new hose clamps etc.. get winch finished.. New tahs..
More laters..

Well after a couple weeks of trying to find out a wee electrical problem.. She's running like a scalded cat..
Turns out the earth system was failing miserably  due to me painting all the bits and bobs first then bolting it together.. and seeing as the front guard is the start point for the main earth system.. had to grind away all the paint from the bolt areas and run a couple straps to the main body..Worked a treat 8) As you can imagine with all the wiring extensions that's been done, it could have turned out a real head scatcher.. :(
SO now I can focus on the painting side of stuff..winch..tahs..cert.. etc etc etc..LOL
Bank manager has givin her blessing to get it finished as she wants the garage back.. "might be a tui add there right in the making"
Pics will folow when I've got all the electrics back together and paint finished..

Well been a while thought i'd post an update..
Been doing all the fiddly bits in cab now ecu's have been relocated.. has tidied up ok..
Have installed an ol head unit(tape drive even.. ) but it has a ipod connector so I can(when I get the onboard navigation sorted..plug in my laptop(big ipod) along with a small touch screen up front(when I get there)
Also had to make up a front fascia panel for around the head unit as almost ALL second hand ones are broken and there from what I've been told only 1 left in the country..(pic might be a while)
Anyway painted up the bonnect in the weekend.. bloody dramas as I didn't clean the gun very well last time I used it and it squirted out a pff of black  ..lol so I just kept on bringing on the white  until it was white again.. must be 5mm thick and the wave..LOL(it'll sand out)
Just need to do the doors and then get the tahs so I can do the bar work..(need them first)
anyway here a couple pics of the front..
Image
and

cheers till later

Well.. I think you can get it from placemakers ( if you can't find any just hola and i'll give ya whats left).. BUT I do have the thermal rap under it to do the heat thing.. but also be aware that when you get it running it'll stink like fark.. I mean it reeks.. :? and also if you're gonna use it like I have then it might be a good idea to rap wire around the outside to help stop the foil from falling off.. I am yet to do this.. as It has starting to unrap.. glue has burned off.. dammit..lol
