Rollcage saved my life for sure, but bent a little at the front croner, hoping i can straten it out. Then i will be fabricating a x over my windshild to stop this in the future.

I have a single diagaonal across my screen with a similar looking cage set up. Its been on its roof, smashed into a root sticking out of a bank at about 30ks to dead stop etc and is still straight as, low end drivers side, and you dont even see it when driving. Has X in roof too.

Just had a look back at your cage pics. With the X in the roof the only way it could of moved is sort of backwards. You really need to brace it from the main hoop back to the rear of the tray, at the moment there is nothing to stop the whole thing backwards. You can see mine under the highlift. It bends as it goes through the deck. On the bend there is another straight heading back to the base of the main hoop to strengthern it. If the braces could have continued straight it wouldn't have needed that. But I cut abt of chassis off

What a fantastic job you made of your zuke,( I wish I had that motivation again). If you have more trouble with that top control arm on your front diff, you could do what I did on my 40, and that is sced' 80 pipe with a John Ohalloran made joint on one end, and one of his heavy duty 3/4'' rod ends on the other.(getting the pipe squashed by a hydraulic hose docter will allow you to tap a 3/4 unf thread into it). Getting rid of the eurothane bushes on the top arm will help to get rid of the axle tramp aswell. Good Luck with the rest of your build. J Ohalloran is in emerald hill kaitoke.

After much saving and searching i decided to go with a nissan 15 silvia.
Found a half cut from japan for resonable price and only 87,000ks on the clock.
Its a SR20det vvt blacktop with 184kw with a 6 speed manual so should fly :D

My problem now is that the 4age and box was about 1300mm long. And the SR20det+6speed is 1550. So basicly i need to extend my wheel base a bit to fit the new engine and with the extra power a longer wheel base is a good idea i think.

Found this on the web, thought it was a sweet idea. Lots of space for big tires. I think i might chopping the front section of the chassie just behind the suspention components and weld in maybe 200mm of chassie to push the wheel base out enof to fit engine and radiator. Any thoughts????

That's going to fly and do good skids.. Ha. Did you look in to using the supercharged 4agze from a levin at all? Might mate up to your box?? But otherwise could you not just move the rear axle back and the front forward?

Should be pretty good with that HP, I'm running a supercharged CA18DE (predessor to the SR) with a educated guess at 130KW at fly wheel, through auto box. Its more than enough for club stuff, but lacking for comp work. Wheel base is a bit longer then standard (front axle foward for fire clearance and rear back) and about to get a bit longer again and engine freshen up for more blow.

Not sure about the box you have but with the older 4 speed SR/CA autos you can lose 200mm ish out of tailshaft and use the spline on the output shaft that the handbrake pawl sits on. Thats how I made mine fit, custom adapted to lux transfer. But manual will be different.

Keen to see how it looks finished. I have kept front grill gaurds etc to fit comp rules.

Oh will be interested to see how you go for sump clearance also, oil pump on the SR hangs down a bit, making rear sump a bit harder.

Starting up the half cut hooked up to the jeep for fuel pump. Sounds mean. Now to get it all out and in the Suzy.

Oh yeah forgot to mention boy racers have a use. Search nswsilvia and similar forums and you will find a full factory service manual in pdf for free. They have full wireing diagrams for the engine including individual diagrams for each component
